I'll be playing some guitar with Jim Dead on Friday, June 28th at The Old Hairdresser's, Glasgow, in support of The Dirt. Then it's off to Dundee the next day for a couple of solo shows as part of The Dundee Blues Bonanza. I'll be playing Boudoir, Templelane at 12:30 pm and Caffe Borsa at 4:00 pm.

I'll be back in Slouch on September 11th with

Dundee Blues Bonanza

I'm happy to say that I'll be playing a couple of shows at this year's Dundee Blues Bonanza. I had a great time playing last year's event, so I'm definitely looking forward to this one. Looks like I'll be there on Saturday June 29th - details TBC.

Gig news ...

Unfortunately I've had to drop out of tonight's gig with Jim Dead @ Pivo Pivo. Unavoidable I'm afraid - however, Mr. Dead will still be playing so please do go along and support him (bearing in mind all I was doing was adding some electric guitar dressing; Jim was always supplying the ... er ... salad. Alright, that metaphor tripped itself up in record time, but you get the idea). Doors open at 7:30pm.

Tomorrow's solo gig at Slouch should be going ahead as planned. I'm also playing a short set at a charity bash on Saturday - see the "gigs" page for details.

More on the next album's progress ...

That's the lion's share of work completed on the new album. I'm chuffed to bits with the results so far.

The last couple of days have witnessed some truly heroic drumming fromTommy Duffin plus the debut performance of the rabble-choir of Tommy with James Duffin and John Sangster (during which I got to show off my considerable studio engineering skills by both starting *and* stopping the recording - a complicated process involving at one point the simultaneous use of as many as two keys on the computer keyboard - without blowing anything up or putting my back out).

Some additional recording and the mix to be done by late next week (ish); mastering soon after. Release dates and so on TBC ...

Album #2 is in progress ...

It's been a fine weekend's recording on album #2 at 16 Ohm Studio with Tommy Duffin and James Duffin. So far, there's a skiffle-type tune (bottle-top tambourine!) and a flamenco-polka track (bongos!!) - and even some blues and such like ...

Jim Dead live dates

I'll be playing some guitar with Jim Dead here and there this year. The first confirmed dates are both for Glasgow: Friday 12 Apr @ The State Bar, (The Vagabond Social Club) with The Firebugs + Ryan Morcombe and Tuesday 21 May @ Pivo Pivo, Glasgow supporting Evening Hymns.

I'm looking forward to these, something of a change of pace for me; however please do note that I won't be playing any solo material at these shows. These are Jim's gigs with me as sideman. Should be fun.
